Due to the sudden rising of coronavirus cases, Jamia Millia Islamia has revised the COVID guidelines to ensure the staff members’ and students’ safety. More than 7000 cases have already been reported in the National Capital in the past 24 hours. To prevent the spread of coronavirus on the campus, a meeting constituting the Dean of faculties and officials has been summoned.
The meeting discussed preventive steps to cease coronavirus in JMI. For this, they framed a Corona Control Committee and Monitoring Committee to check and provide updates about coronavirus in the university. Also, everyone must wear masks while walking on the campus.
Other important COVID Guideline issued by JMI –
- All the students are instructed to stay at home and avoid attending the campus for any academic work, library, laboratory unless it is very crucial.
- All COVID- 19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) including thermal screening at gates, wearing of a mask, social distancing, no spitting in public places, and entry with valid identity proof is necessary while entering the campus for academic activities and an essential chore.
- JMI has also declared the cancellation of the booking of conference halls/auditorium/seminar halls for any meetings or events for presently.
Moreover, the Corona Control Committee and a Monitoring Committee will be accountable for the inspection of the pandemic situation inside the campus. And supervise the University Administration for taking the essential steps for betterment.

Meanwhile, Delhi University, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, have also enforced stringent COVID-19 guidelines inside their campuses. They too have asked the students to stay at home and avoid going to the campus unless it’s of utmost importance.
