JEE REVISED SYLLABUS TO BE DISCUSSED BY IIT BOARD

The Joint Entrance Board of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is scheduled to revise the syllabus, based on which the Joint Entrance Test (JEE Advanced) will be conducted next year.

A board meeting will be conducted on Saturday for this purpose. JEE (Advanced), the entrance exam for IIT, is conducted every year after the JEE (Main) result.

IIT sources told this newspaper that the revision is being done by the Central Board of Secondary Education keeping in mind the changes made in the syllabus of class XII for mathematics, chemistry, and physics last year.

The modified syllabus, in which the duplication in the syllabus was removed, is being taught to students in the recent academic year.

Sources said that this amendment was largely settled, as the board reduced the syllabus by about 30 percent for 2020 due to major educational disruption due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
