JEE and NEET 2020 entrance examinations are knocking the doors. Parents, aspirants, and testing bodies are worried about conducting exams amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Baffled by the continuous delay, some want the engineering and medical entrance tests to be performed as per schedule. They do not want further postponement.
The India Wide Parents’ Association wrote to the Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. They demanded postponement of the JEE-Main 2020, NEET 2020. Also, on August 6, they became the major movers for a PIL in the Supreme Court.
In July, five students presented for the examination held in Kerala had tested positive for COVID-19. Apparently, many campuses have listed COVID cases. Also, many more have buildings have been transformed into quarantine centers.
The JEE Main 2020 is organized to be conducted between September 1 and 6. NEET 2020 planned for September 13. About 25 lakh students have enrolled to write them.
The media has been chasing tug-of-war over exams for the past many weeks. Gathered below are some of the responses. These are in regard to the upcoming JEE and NEET examination.
The pandemic situation is shocking across the country. Moreover, public transport is not working. Students and parents are stressed out to the utmost in view of not only the horrible COVID 19 but also the suspicion about the conthe duct of NEET UThe lifeam. The life of students is supreme [and more important] than any exam. Conduct of NEET in the present strategy would put the lives of at least 32 lakks Indians at hazard (16 lac students + 16 lac guardians) on one day which could be fatal. So for these 1-year admissions established on the Class 12 performance will be the apt judgment.
Postponement of the exam is not a durable finding. Some students have been readying for the exams for three years. Exams can be held with essential precautions in place like the KCET [Karnataka Common Entrance Test] was performed. Some students are making it a problem for no reason. Why should 80 percent of students endure because of them? I request not to postpone NEET 2020.
For how many days will the children stay under stress? Our children have been preparing for the past two and a half years. NEET is performed for three hours and Class 12 students can guarantee their safety on their own. If necessary, students who have seemed for the exam can be asked to follow home isolation for 10 days. I request you to not suspend the exam and lessen the children’s stress.
I am a parent of a NEET 2020 candidate and would like to indicate some criteria for the deliberation of the NTA NEET board and public eyes.
