The National Testing Agency(NTA) is about to begin the entrance exam JEE Mains 2020 from Tuesday. The agency is taking care of all the social distancing norms and make proper arrangement in view of the coronavirus pandemic
The administration postponed entrance exams twice important for lakhs of IIT and medical aspirants. The National Testing Agency decided to hold exams in two shifts. The morning shift will begin from 9 am and end by 12 pm. The afternoon shift will begin from 3 pm and end by 6 pm. The authority will sanitize all the classrooms in between the gap of shift timings.
NTA ARRANGED FOR MASKS AND OTHER SAFETY MEASURES FOR JEE MAINS CANDIDATES
The Supreme Court rejected the appeal to postpone JEE and NEET entrance exams. Six Ministers states
approached the Supreme Court to cancel entrance exams. They were against the decision of conducting the NEET and JEE Mains 2020 exams despite the rising cases of COVID-19 in India. NTA arranged for 10 lakh pair of masks along with 1,300 infrared thermometer guns, 6,600 liters of sanitizers. They also arranged for 6,600 sponges, 3,300 spray bottles, and 3,300 cleaning staff.

NTA SPENT ADDITIONAL Rs. 13 CRORE TO FOLLOW SOCIAL DISTANCING NORMS
NTA will conduct the JEE Mains entrance exam in 660 test centers. It is spending extra Rs.13 Crore to follow the norms and protocols in the COVID-19 situation. The number of examination centers are increased from 580 to 660. That is why more invigilators are ropes in than previously planned. Earlier, the shift of examination for 8 to 12. Now, the number of shifts is increased. The number of candidates per shift was 1.32 lakh. Now they are 85,000.
NTA AND OTHER STATES CM ENSURED SAFETY OF CANDIDATES OF JEE MAINS
National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha are taking care of the safety and security of candidates. The alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi launched a portal for free transportation and accommodation to needy JEE Mains and NEET candidates. A total number of 7.78 students have downloaded their admit cards for JEE.
NUMBER OF REGISTERED STUDENTS FOR JEE MAINS AND NEET
According to the National Testing Agency, 16 lakh students registered for NEET, and 8.58 lakh students register for JEE. Other State governments including Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh have ensured transportation facilities to the students.
