JEE MAIN 2021: CUT-OFF FOR FEBRUARY TO GO UP AS PER EXPERTS

On 26 February 2021, Joint Entrance Examination (NTA JEE Main 2021) concluded. Keeping in view the difficulty level of the engineering entrance test exam, experts have predicted that the cut-off will go above 90 percent this year. Head of FIITJEE Noida branch, Ramesh Batlish said that the cut-off can be slightly higher this year due to the overall difficulty level of this engineering entrance level exam. He further added that the actual will still depend on the remaining sessions scheduled for March, May, and April.

Snehasish Banerjee, Professor at Roy’s institute, Kolkata said that for the unreserved category, the cutoff may vary from 90 to 100. Whereas for the reserved category, it is expected to be between 60 and 70. Candidates with an expected score of 200 can hope for a percentile from 90 to 100.

Vidyamandir Classes, Director academics Saurabh Kumar predicted the cutoff to be around 90 percentile which is equivalent to a score between 100 to 110. He also said that some of the questions rooted back to the old CBSE syllabus.

FACTORS DETERMINING THE CUT OFF FOR JEE MAIN

  • total number of aspirants appeared,
  • number of available seats,
  • difficulty level of the exam,
  • previous year cut-off trends

6,61,776 candidates in total registered for the February cycle of the exam. Difficulty level of maths, physics, chemistry varied session wise and the overall paper was reviewed as moderately difficult.

From 15 March to 18 March 2021, the next cycle of the exam will be held and the answer key for the February cycle is likely to be released next week. Following the release of the answer key, results will also be announced.
