Admission for Ph.D. courses

On Tuesday, Jamia Millia Islamia University announced the date for commencing admission for Ph.D. courses. Accordingly, the admission to Ph.D. courses will begin on 1 April 2022. Moreover, the last date to apply is 30 April.

According to the official notification, the JMI said, “The eligible candidates can apply for admission to Ph.D. courses for the academic session 2022-23 from 1 April. They can apply before 30 April 2022. Further, the online application form for admission to Ph.D. programs will be released on the official website of JMI. And, the admission schedule will be out soon.”

On the other hand, Jamia Millia Islamia hasn’t decided on implementing the Common University Entrance Test, CUET for UG programs admissions. The university said, “The Academic Council and Executive Council will take a decision on CUET for Undergraduate admissions. Earlier the commute was constituted to decide. However, the final decision is yet to be brought about.”

CUET 2022: Registration to start on April first week

Furthermore, JMI has a 30% reservation for Muslim students. From which 10% reservation for women belonging to the Muslim community and 10% for Muslims OBC. Additionally, University has a 5% reservation for students passed out from Jamia schools. 

In recent, Najma Akhtar, the JMI Vice-Chancellor bestowed with the Padma Shri Award. The award was given by President Kovind. She was awarded for her priceless contribution to the field of education and literature.
