On Tuesday, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) began the offline entrance exams for admission to various Ph.D. programs offered by the varsity. The entrance exams were conducted in two shifts: morning shift and afternoon shift for admission to the Ph.D. programs in the Faculty of Humanities and Languages and the Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics respectively.
The entrance examination will continue till 28 June 2021 for other various programs. For the Ph.D. program in different departments of the university, a total of 12000 students have applied.

JMI entrance examinations mark the first offline-mode examinations this year. The JMI entrance exam was conducted, in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines and protocols, at test centers on the Jamia Millia Islamia campus. Notably, as per the varsity, the examination centers were sanitized a day before the exam.

The candidates were allowed with social distancing norms, temperature checks, and following the COVID appropriate behavior. Instructions were given out loud to and beforehand to carry personal sanitizers and wear proper face masks.
Even for parents/ guardians, the varsity had created waiting areas equipped with chairs and pedestals.
