The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at IIT-Varanasi will launch a Regional Academic Centre for Space to promote short and long-term programs at the association. The statement said, on Wednesday, The Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) and ISRO approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and the move can enable propel the culture of development and research among students.
It said ISRO-IIT (BHU) will begin the Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) in the association, under this agreement.
Short-term projects for M-Tech and B-Tech candidates from the institute and associate institutes will also be comprised in this series.
The statement added that long term R&D projects directing to the Ph.D. program will also be proposed. Capacity building programs such as exhibitions, conferences, and short courses will be overseen to enhance the knowledge base in the field.
The director of Capacity Building Program Office (CBPO), ISRO headquarter, IIT (BHU) director Prof Pramod Kumar Jain on behalf of the association, sign the MoU. However, ISRO scientific secretary R Umamaheswaran provided the inaugural address.
Prof Pramod Kumar Jain mentioned that the Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) of ISRO will work as a crucial facilitator for facilitating space technology actions in Madhya Pradesh Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
He further added that IIT(BHU) will behave as a spur for awareness creation, capacity building, and R&D activities of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The actions of RAC-S will be overseen to maximize the utilization of infrastructure, research potential, and expertise available at ISRO and IIT(BHU).
