Bhopal Railway Division amid coronavirus pandemic has created an application for scanning of train tickets. With the help of this app, the TTE staff who checks the tickets will be able to initiate contactless checking of the train tickets of passengers. The application will assist TTE staff during the process of checking tickets on the train. The app will allow TTE staff to scan the QR code of the Indian Railways train ticket. The scan will let the TTE staff get the entire information about the traveling passenger on his mobile phone.

Checking tickets via QR scanner will prevent TTE staff from taking the tickets in their hands and further handling it over. Bhopal Rail Division has introduced this OR scan application and has further downloaded it in the mobile phones of all the ticket checking railwaymen.

Udaya Borwankar, the Divisional Railway Manager said that this app will further allow all the ticket checking railway personnel to feed their information and work as per their assigned duties. Not only this, but the ticket checker personals will also be able to record the details of the fine imposed on persons through this app. The QR code scan app allows them to record the details of the people who are subjected to be fined by the Indian railways.

Earlier, all these entries were entered and the record was made in a register. So, the railways have developed this app to eradicate the carrying of register with TTE staff. The app will further help to avoid the physical touch and therefore chances of spread of coronavirus will decrease.

Bhopal Railway Division has begun the contactless ticketing systems which work with ticket scanning via QR code. The system has been influenced by the contactless ticket counters set up at the airports.

The passengers traveling via Indian Railways will receive a URL and a QR code after booking the Indian railways’ train tickets at the Indian railway station or online. The TTE staff will further scan the QR code of the ticket during the journey. The QR scanner will then display the details of the passenger on the mobile application of the TTE staff.
