Player Unknown’s BattleGround (PUBG) may soon be banned in India. The government of India is planning to ban PUBG. After banning the 59 Chinese apps, there are reports that the over 275 apps are soon going to be banned in India. The 59 apps banned last month included famous apps TikTok which had a huge fan base in India. The ban on apps is being induced to regulate the country’s privacy and security.

On Monday 27th July 2020, the government banned over 47 Chinese apps which were replicas of previously banned Chinese apps. These clown apps included the TikTok lite, Bigo Lite, Shareit Lite, VFY Lite, and Helo Lite. The world-famous game was not a part of this list however it is said to be coming forthwith in the upcoming list.

PUBG is certainly one of the most popular yet addictive mobile games in India and also worldwide. The application in India itself boosts of about 175 million downloads. After the rumors of PUBG likely to be baned in India the developers of the app revised its privacy policy support page. The updated privacy policy of the application says that all the data and information of users/local citizens are reserved in India.

The Indian government is contemplating a ban on the addictive PUBG game keeping in mind the data breaching concerns. As per the reports, various applications including PUBG have been on the radar recently due to apparent security breaching and data sharing exercises with China.

PUBG has gained heavy criticism over the past few years but for the addictive nature of the game. Some state governments across the country also imposed a temporary ban on the application owing to complaints of parents and guardians. The game was banned in the past in various states due to its addicting nature. People across the country claimed that the app had various psychological effect on the players and especially teenagers.

After receiving resentment from parents and chagrin of leaving a psychological effect, the PUBG then began taking feedbacks from parents, government, and educators to establish a safe gaming experience. The PUBG took initiative to create a secure and comfortable ecosystem that would serve players with a safe and promising gaming experience.

Earlier this month, Pakistan also imposed a ban on the PUBG application due to its harmful effects. Pakistan also banned the app because of its addictive nature and harmful effects on teenagers’ health. However, on 26 July, Pakistan’s court lifted the ban on PUBG application.
