With the primary aim of providing scientists and technologists of the highest caliber, the MEA of IIT Madras has launched MECHANICA 2021 in order to engage them in design, research, and development. With a team size of 100 students and 2400 engineers as its community, the MEA of IIT Madras is the largest student-run organization of the institution and is under the supervision of 75 faculty members.
The biggest event of the MEA of IIT Madras is the Annual Research and technology extravaganza of the department and is mainly sponsored by Ashok Leyland, Ansys, General Electronics, Altair this year. With a glistening variety of contests and events, the fest was started as a humble attempt to strengthen the foundations of mechanical students and pave a way for them to understand theory in the context of real life. In the past few years, Mechanica has evolved itself to become a stage for discussion and exchange of information regarding the challenges of Mechanical Engineering in the current world.
The theme of #EnduringRecast- The change that withstands is at the heart of the design of Mechanica 2021 and is equipped with industrial problem-solving challenges, certified workshops, and case study competitions.
The workshops include 3D modeling, LaTex, MATLAB and IC Engines, ANSYS, FUSION 360.
