IIT Madras organising crash courses for rural learners hit by pandemic

IIT Madras: Faculty members of central universities have arranged more than 300 hours of video lectures, which will be filled with rustic pieces of the country as intensive lessons for students who missed classes due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

The lectures will be broadcast from tomorrow through To Direct to Home ‘educational channel SWAYAM PRABHA.

The Indian Institute of Technology is planning a Madras extension, under which the new material will be communicated to NPTEL Channel 11-18 by 31 August and will be rescheduled to Channel 11-16 from 1 September.

According to a release issued by IIT Madras, the center aims to help rural students who could not support classes due to the COVID-19 Lockdown. The center has given brief training on critical thinking with an accent. The lessons were recorded by staff from various central universities from their homes. The negotiation schedule is accessible and will be revised on the DTH SWAYAM Prabha site.

Talking about this activity, head of science division of IIT Madras, Mangala Sundar, who is the chief facilitator of DTH SWAYAM Prabha, explained, All the staff understood the need for squeeze and participated in the important part by enthusiastically contacting them. The country is working through creating modern learning materials for the students who were impacted by the lockdown.

Through showcasing their inventive strategies and consolidating generalized conventions, faculty members from various central universities undertook long periods of excellent lectures by putting a priority on conceptual understanding, problem-solving approaches, and contextual analyzes other than the model applied.

The standard 40–50-hour lectures of the whole course were condensed to 10–15 hours for rapid digestion from comprehension during the lockdown.
