Today, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) declared scholarships for undergraduate (BSc) programming and data science students. The scholarship program inaugurated in affiliation with Verizon India is meant for meritorious candidates whose annual family income is less than INR 1 lakh. The release mentioned that through this scholarship proposal, nominated candidates will get financial assistance for 4 academic terms.
Prof Mahesh Panchagnula, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), IIT Madras, said Verizon India has been a long-time contributor of their efforts in supporting deserving candidates on their education journey. They are pleased to partner with them again to help financially distressed candidates in the BSc program in programming and data science.
The UG course on programming and data science was initiated last year. According to the course curriculum, first-year students will understand the basics of programming and data science while in the diploma year skill programs, and application of these programs will be taught and in the final stage candidates will learn about specializations. By the end of the 3 years, a BSc degree will be proposed.
IIT MADRAS LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAM TO BOOST WOMEN LEADERSHIP
Students will get access to the 4 weeks of the course content of 4 subjects- English, mathematics, statistics, and computational thinking. These candidates will go through online course lectures, submit assignments online, and write an in-person qualifier examination at the end of 4 weeks. In this course, all candidates who clear the test with an overall score of 50 % will be eligible to apply for the foundational program.
