IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Delhi to introduce a new undergraduate course from the next academic session. IIT Delhi will start BDes(Bachelor of Design).
Department of Design of IIT Delhi, established in 2017. Now the department will offer a Bachelor of Design(BDes) program in the institute. However, the institute has been offering a Master of Design (MDes) program since 1994. Moreover, students of all the streams can opt for the Bachelor of Design in undergraduate. IIT Delhi has a total of 20 seats for admission in the course.

HOW TO GET ADMISSION TO THE NEWLY LAUNCHED PROGRAM?
As students of all the streams(science, arts, commerce) can apply for admission. Students will have to go through an entrance exam called UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design). According to the rank secured in the entrance exam, students will get admission to the course.
Students can visit site uceed.iitb.ac.in. for registration. Moreover, registration for the entrance exam has started on 9th September. It will last on 10th October, with a late fee on 17th October. The entrance exam date is 23rd January 2022.

Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Director IIT Delhi said we are delighted about introducing a new bachelor’s program. He further said IIT Delhi will admit students first time other than Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the UG course. Students graduating in Bdes from IIT Delhi would take up a good position in the industry, consulting, government, and entrepreneurship over a while, he said.
