Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi is in partnership with the Common Services Center, CSC Academy. The academy runs under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The institute took this decision to set up a design and innovation lab.

It is aimed at helping rural entrepreneurs. It will set up a department of design at IIT Delhi. Students will research designed innovations. So, those innovations will solve the problem of rural areas. The lab is named as ‘Design and Innovation in VLE’s Indigenous Network Ecosystem (DIVINE) Lab’.

IIT DELHI STUDENTS WILL RESEARCH ON RURAL DEVELOPMENT ECOSYSTEM

Students will be able to research on rural development ecosystem and design new products and services for people residing in villages. Many educational courses will be added. Moreover, entrepreneurs of rural areas face the problem of poor connectivity and low digital literacy.

With the help of this partnership, IIT Delhi will be able to implement growth and solve the challenges of growth. So, it is just because of the entrepreneurial spirit that Common Services Centres run.

WORKING OF CSC CENTRES

The centers are adaptive and based on local community development. It solves problems on a day-to-day basis for a wide range of customers. Moreover, common services centres work on digital connectivity in areas with limited access.

Dinesh Tyagi, the managing director of CSC said that the Design Lab will benefit from IIT unparallel expertise. He further said that this learning will create knowledge around grassroots innovation by VLEs.

DIVINE LABS AT IIT DELHI

With the help of the DIVINE Lab, students of with the village level entrepreneurs. They will create solutions for local problems in villages using design and technology.

V. Ramgopal Rao is the Director at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He said that this collaboration will help students identify problems in rural areas. CSC academy will be set up in 2017. It will provide access to professional learning in many subjects.

CSC ACADEMY HELPS STUDENTS OF CLASS 9 TO 12

The subjects are computer, cyber-security, and computer-aided design. CSC Academy caters to students of class 6th to 9th. Moreover, they can access online material related to the school curriculum.‎
