Due to COVID-19, IIT held a virtual placement session. During the first phase of the IIT Delhi placement session, students secured around 925 jobs. 200 companies offered around 250 job profiles including pre-placement offers.
According to the students of IIT Delhi, the top recruiting companies that reached the campus and offered placements are Tata Projects, Oracle, Intel, EXL Services, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, HCL, Intel, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and IQVIA.

Moreover, some of the placement offers are from countries like Japan, South Korea, Middle East, Taiwan, and Singapore. Around 20 selections are confirmed from international profiles.
Many multinational companies have offered domestic roles to the students. However, they can convert them into international offers. Most of the students in IIT Delhi opted for placements under technical core.

IT and Analytics are core to the departments such as Computer Science, Mathematics, computing etc. Companies recruiting under the finance sector and offering fintech roles. On the other hand, companies of sectors other than IT and Finance also includes some of the core sector companies.

Anishya Madan is the Head of the Office of Career Services at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She said that around 90 percent of students bagged offers of their core. In this placement session, more than 400 organizations registered and offered 675 job profiles. Now, the first phase of placement is over and the institution is about to begin the second phase. It will run till May 2021.
