IIT DELHI ANNOUNCES NEW B.TECH COURSE

The students qualifying JEE advanced 2020 will observe a new course option in IIT Delhi. The undergraduate course is B. Tech in Engineering and Computational Mechanics which is introduced by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Students from this year will have this additional choice.

Starting from the session 2020-21, the program will be managed by the Department of Applied Mechanics of the institution.

The students can apply for this course as soon as the result of JEE Advanced 2020 is declared. The candidates who have successfully passed the JEE Main examination can appear for the advance level on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Based on the results of the JEE Advanced examination, students will get into the Indian Institute of Technology of the country.

Professor Sanjeev Sanghi, HoD, Applied Mechanics said that the course will build immense capabilities in the students. They will be the recipient of the best technology jobs in core engineering in the future. It will be the perfect course suiting candidates who want to pursue a Master’s and Ph.D. in IIT Delhi and also in other prestigious national and international educational institutions. He describes the course as the future of engineering.

JEE ADVANCED OBSERVED LEAST PRESENCE FROM PAST 3 YEARS

The course will help students in learning many skills. The selected candidates will be able to solve problems related to the industry. They will be able to do cutting edge research through experimentation, computation, and analysis. Students will be capable enough to analyze complex interdisciplinary phenomena that are related to the above-mentioned industry issues.

The aims of B. Tech in Engineering and Computational Mechanics are listed below:

Firstly, it will provide exposure to the students on recent trends in computational techniques and also in matters of experimentation.

Secondly, students will be able to do an in-depth analysis of understanding fundamental engineering questions.

Thirdly, it will provide tools to address areas like Nanomechanics, Biomechanics, Time Scales, Constitutive Modeling at Multiple Length, Parallel Processing for Mechanics Problems, Artificial Intelligence in Mechanics, and also Machine Learning.

Fourthly, the course will build a strong founding stone in the fundamentals of engineering mechanics.

IIT DELHI FACULTY MEMBERS SELECTED IN INAE 2020

It will be a great opportunity for students as they will be exposed to the fundamentals of all aspects of mechanics. It will include classical aspects that have sub-topics of theoretical and experimental mechanics. Further, it will have the latest in computational techniques. Finite Element (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be covered under it.

Professor Sanghi added that the students will have huge scope in various areas, which is research, design, and analysis. These jobs will be in sectors like aerospace, defense, automotive, biomechanics, shipping, offshore structures, biomedical devices, etc. In all the course trains the candidates in future skills and gives them real-time industry experience.

The course is designed after close deliberation and consultation with the industry. This exclusive course is structured for the IIT Delhi aspirants and will increase the number of seats in the prestigious institute. This will act as a boon for the candidates. The course is like a transformation wave for engineering enthusiasts.
