IIEST Shibpur alumni now in California, began an online signature drive highlighting the persistent slide of the institute. They wrote the problems to the Union education minister on Tuesday. The institute suffered because of the shortage of funding authorized by the parliament.
The campaign was signed by over 2,000 ex-students of the Shibpur Institute. It sought to figure out from Dharmendra Pradhan. Is his office kind enough to agree on the release of part of the fund approved by the parliament? For the upgradation of the academic as well as infrastructural facilities?”
We have ensured that the MED under your leadership will not allow this. The lineage institution to die for lack of government support and perish into oblivion says the signed request. A copy of the request was provided by the Union Minister of State for Education, Subhas Sarkar. He is a BJP MP from Bankura.
