The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is proposing candidates study a combination of subjects offered across programs. The course-wise enrollment and certification scheme was inaugurated to allow candidates to register for specific courses without having to register for an entire program.
The scheme allows students to enroll for a single course or multiple courses, they can choose interdisciplinary programs up to a maximum of 16 credits. It mentioned that the eligibility to take admission in a program shall be the same as that of the program from which the courses are brought.
For all the academic programs except the courses offered under awareness and research degree and appreciation level programs, the application process is open. There will be no different lab-work or counseling schedules for candidates.
The minimum duration for completion of the course is 6 months, and the maximum duration is 2 years. The program once opted could not be changed by the candidate. However, The successful nominees will be awarded a ‘certificate of completion of course.’
Meanwhile, the varsity has offered programs on offer include master’s, bachelor’s, certificate, and diploma programs. The programs are Master of Arts in Gandhi, Master of Arts (Hindi), and Peace Studies (MAGPS)/MGPS), MA (translation studies), bachelor of tourism, bachelor of library and information sciences, a post-graduate certificate in Gandhi and peace studies, postgraduate diploma in Gandhi and peace studies, a post-graduate certificate in agriculture policy, diploma in tourism studies, a certificate program in library and information science, a certificate in information technology, certificate program in peace studies and conflict management, a certificate in tribal studies, certificate in the Russian Language, certificate in the Arabic Language, and certificate in tourism studies.
