The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) launched a certificate course in environmental, occupational hazards which will be accessible through the SWAYAM platform. The twelve-week course will commence on February 15. Moreover, this course is a certificate-level course in the bioengineering category and biological science. Candidates will learn about natural disasters and hazards, and methods to deal with them.

The course also includes weather hazards, geological -related hazards, or coastal hazards. IGNOU said in an official statement that the course also talks about Occupational Hazards. Currently, the University offers 105 courses through the portal known as the SWAYAM portal. Moreover, IGNOU has also begun series of online programs.

Recently, the IGNOU initiated a new certificate course in Mobile Application Development (CMAD) through distance and open mode. The program is for 6 months’ duration and candidates who have passed class 12 are eligible for the course.
