IGNOU LAUNCHES MASTER OF ARTS IN SUSTAINABILITY SCIENCE

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started a Master of Arts in Sustainability Science (MASS). The course is in line with the principles of the National Education Policy 2020 and is on offer in Online Distance Learning (ODL) mode at the School of Interdisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies for the admission cycle from January 2022.

Interested students, who have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, can go to the official website of ignou at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in 3 and get admission for the MASS program.
Sustainability Science is an arising domain across the world. It is adequately acknowledged as one of the devices to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and to stimulate sustainability in many ways.

A press release issued by the university said that IGNOU’s MASS program is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, aimed at reaching sustainability education to all sections of the society, especially in higher education.

DU RELEASES DRAFT UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK (UGCF)

As per the Press Release, The course was formulated under the leadership of IGNOU Vice-chancellor, Prof. Nageshwar Rao, along with prominent educationists and practitioners in the field of Sustainability. Dr. Y.S.C. Khuman, Assistant lecturer, SOITS, and Dr. Deeksha Dave, Assistant professor, SOITS, are the course coordinators.

Furthermore, after successful fulfillment of 1st-year courses, the course will be given with PG Diploma in Sustainability Science.
