Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the Master of Arts ( MA English) through online mode (MEGOL) on January 31, 2022. Students who want to register can go to the official website of ignou at ignuiop.samarth.edu.in.
The course will be of 2 years duration. The program will provide learners a sound understanding of English and American literature and different new areas of literature like Canadian, Australian and Indian English.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students who want to apply for this program must have a Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized university.
To complete the MA course, a student can opt for the program from any of the modules with 2 compulsory courses to be chosen in the first year. Nevertheless, if for any reason a learner is unable to complete the MA course, he/she can exit with a PG Diploma in English after finalizing the course of 32 credits.

The fee for the entire program is Rs 13,600/- to be paid year-wise – Rs 6800/- per annum. A registration fee of Rs 200/- is payable along with the 1st year fee.
The course has been introduced in an online mode with the aim that more potential applicants will now be able to propose a master’s degree in the English language, as it will allow them to finalize the course in their own time.
