A visionary podcast series ‘Freedom to learn’ has been launched by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). It is initiated to reach the diverse learner base of the university and to boost online learning. Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, launched the program.
The professionals from various fields are brought together in one place through this platform. Here they talk about ‘Future of Work: Navigating a sustainable New World’. The podcast series will empower learners and stakeholders with a chance to hear the best of minds. Prof. Neeti Agrawal and Prof. Nayantara Padhi of School of Management Studies are the coordinators for the podcast series. It can be accessed from — www.ignou.ac.in, the official website of IGNOU.
Prof. Nageshwar Rao, on the occasion of the launch, IGNOU, said for the benefit of the wider set of learners, the curriculum of other schools and online counseling should also be made part of the Podcast. He even applauded the swiftness of Centre for Online Education (COE) with the help of which the podcast series has been rolled out.

Recently, admissions for the July 2020 session has been opened by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). MA in Sanskrit has also been introduced by the varsity from the new session.
P Sivaswaroop, regional director of IGNOU Nagpur Regional Centre, in an online press meet stated that all the admissions are being done online only. Interested candidates can apply on the admission portal https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/.
IGNOU is offering various online sessions for the benefit of students, in order to avoid students gathering at the study center. To conduct online classes for the students, Gyan Darshan TV Channel, Gyan Vani FM Radio Channel, Google Meet, Cisco Webex Meeting, etc. are used. Live sessions on Facebook are also conducted.
Admissions for 177 programs have been offered by IGNOU. Starting from a 6-month Certificate, 1-year Diploma, 3-year Undergraduate (UG), and 2 years Postgraduate (PG) Degree Programs.
Free education to SC, ST candidates in around 100 programs is being offered by IGNOU. It is opened for those SC, ST candidates, who are not getting any other scholarships and are unemployed.
