IGNOU press released a statement on Sunday, 11th October 2020 regarding the July 2020 session. The IGNOU statement declared that provisional admission will be given to the July session applicants. These applicants are given admission without producing the results and the mark sheet of the particular qualifying examination.
IGNOU registrations and admission dates are extended up to October 15th, 2020. Aspiring candidates can still apply for various Undergraduate and Post-graduate courses. However, Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) granted permission to seek provisional admission to the applicants in the wake of the pandemic.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several educational institutions in the country are affected and their admission procedure lays delayed. Hence, IGNOU also delayed the dates for the result submissions.

Statement of IGNOU press release:
The press release statement says that the students are unable to join and seek admissions into higher educational institutions. This is all because of the unavailability to produce results of their qualifying examinations. Hence, the COVID 19 pandemic is responsible for all this unnecessary delay. The press release also stated that to grant relief to the students, this provisional admission method has been adopted.
IGNOU: FINAL TERM EXAMS’ DATE RELEASED
IGNOU provisional admission criteria:
University Grants Commission(UCG)’s guidelines have been kept in mind by the university. The provisional admission will be given only when candidates fulfill certain requirements.
1. Applications for courses in which eligibility for admission is an Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree. The candidate must have the mark sheet of the 2nd year / 5th semester in support of the above statement. Hence, admission can be granted then.
2. Applications for courses in which the eligibility criteria is 10+2 equivalent. The aspiring candidate must give a proof for the above that they appeared for the 10+2 examination and their results are awaited. Hence, admission can be granted on that basis.

3. All the candidates getting provisional admissions are required to submit the pass certificates for their respective courses for the latest by 31st December 2020. However, failing this can lead to admission cancellation.
