ICCR has organized a 2nd National Conference on “Destination India – Making India the preferred Hub of Education” virtually in collaboration with the University of Delhi on 15 April 2021 from 1030 hrs (IST).
ICCR is planning to increase the strength of foreign students studying in India. Shri Dinesh K Patnaik, Director General, ICCR; P. C. Joshi, Vice-Chancellor, Delhi University; Shri Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson, AICTE; and many other officials join the meeting on Destination India.

Why do we need international students?
The main motive of getting international students inside our progress in education with countries around the world and with the developing countries. The idea was to get students from countries to request struggling with newly independent developing countries to come and study in India.
Make the world aware of our capabilities
India is a growing nation and it has to take its rightful place in the world over capabilities. the world needs to come and see our capability. our neighboring and friendly countries is the main motive in the beginning.
Furthermore, the vice-chancellor of Delhi University added that with the ICCR which has a six-decade-long history of dealing with Academy students and researchers from other 120 countries. He was one of the first who had formulated the 42 member committee in August 2020 to implement NEP. India offers in the field of Higher Education and especially in the most dynamic aspect of the national education policy is ABC academic credit. This credit is going to be now established and Delhi University has given great thought to the academic Bank of credit how this credit can be transferred and he thinks it is going to drastically change in India.
WILL CUCET REPLACE MERIT BASED ADMISSION INTO DU COLLEGES?
Shri Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson, AICTE said he thinks the best model for connecting foreign students is the fellowship.
Moreover, Shri Dinesh K Patnaik said we need to give foreign students special treatment. As they are now our guests but in future, they will be our ambassadors. He further added we have to teach Universities how to deal with the international system.
