The examination for the final course is to be conducted from July 5. At the same time, the intermediate course examination is to be conducted from July 6. Whereas, the exam for the CA Foundation course will be held from July 24. A notification in this regard was issued on the official website, icai.org on June 5. Earlier, ICAI had postponed the CA final and intermediate exams to be held from May 21 and 22.
Notice in this regard was issued on the official website on April 27, 2021. This decision was taken because of the increasing case of COVID-19 across the country. It was told in the notice that the new date of examination will be issued at least 25 days before the examination. After this, the revised schedule was released on June 5.
On the other hand, students have urged ICAI to provide them an option to opt-out of the exam. According to media reports, 987 CA students across the country have filed public interest litigation in the Supreme Court of India demanding postponement of the examination.
Apart from postponing the CA exam 2021, students have urged ICAI on several other aspects as well. In the petition, it has been said on behalf of the students that there is no provision for the students suffering from COVID-19 in the notification of CA Exam 2021 issued on June 5.
The petition filed in the SC has also suggested increasing the number of examination centers so that students do not face any difficulty in traveling. The petitioners have urged the court that if the situation is not favorable, the ICAI CA July Exam 2021 should be postponed.
