ICAI is soon going to conduct CA exams. The institute already notified the Supreme Court that it will not hold the upcoming CA exams online.
Many students due to COVID 19 requested the ICAI to conduct CA exams online. As per ICAI, Chartered Accountants exams check the analytical capabilities of the candidates. So, it cannot hold the exams online. Moreover, the institution said that exams include descriptive answers and not tick marks. It has a different pattern of 3 hours exam.

Supreme Court disposed of the petition to conduct online exams. ICAI will hold the exams from November 21 to December 14.
In the Supreme Court, Ramji Srinivasan represented ICAI. He confirmed that there will be facilities of doctor and isolation rooms in the examination centers.
Advocate Bansuri Swaraj represented the petitioners. The Supreme Court ordered the representative of ICAI to examine all the suggestions. So, Srinivasan said that he has examined all the suggestions. He further said that examiners are asking for transportation and accommodation and that is not possible. The bench directed the petitioners to be reasonable in their demands.
ICAI requested the home affairs to authorize e-admit cards to book hotels. Earlier the state government agreed to these suggestions so according to the bench, they will only deal with this issue.
Chartered Accountants exams were conducted properly in the recent past. The Supreme Court asked ICAI to submit all the grievances raised by the petitioners on the website. The petitioners said that ICAI is not taking care of their safety and that is why they didn’t take any safety measures. Less than a month is left for exams.
According to the rules of the Central Government, at most 100 persons are allowed in the academic institutions. So, as per the petitioners ICAI is violating the guidelines of the Central Government.
