How to Prepare for DU LLB | DU PG Admission 2020

DU LLB entrance exam is considered to be most competitive exam for law. A lot of students appear for this exam every year and few of them are able to crack the test. Law as a career has experienced staggering growth and students are drifting toward this profession. If you are one of those law aspirants and appearing for DU LLB entrance exam then here are preparation tips for DU LLB.

1. Plan a proper strategy

Planning is the first step for preparing DU LLB entrance exam. Law aspirants should plan a strategy, maintain a study schedule of at least 6 to 8 hours per day for a minimum of 2 months. Sticking to the schedule is most important. Many students find it hard to remain stick to the plan. Practice should be kept consistent, at least one English and one reasoning exercise should be practiced daily for better grip.

2. Solve previous year paper

The student should practice previous year question papers. This will help you in understanding the pattern and marks distribution of question paper. The student must go through entrance exam papers such as DU, AILET, CLAT, and LSAT.

3. Look for weak areas

While solving the question paper, take an idea of the examination level. Look for your weak points and then give more emphasis on them while studying. The more you practice, the more you will understand topic.

4. Keep conditions

Time management in the exam should be kept in mind. Decide how much time you have to give to tough questions and easy questions. This will help you to save time and invest that in questions that require more time. Time management can be ensured by practicing under such conditions. While solving full-length question papers put time limit conditions.

5. Online mock tests

Preparation status can also be checked through online mock test series, even they bound a time limit for you. Online mock tests boost confidence for the entrance exam. Mock test series make a big difference in preparation. They help in improving speed and efficiency.

6. Book for preparations

There are books available for the preparation of the DU LLB entrance. One must be careful while looking for such a book as some of them contain several errors and may indirectly lead you to wrong concepts.

7. Join good coaching institute

Students can also join some good coaching institutes for help in the preparation for entrance exams and guidance. Students can also look for good and reliable distance learning programs from a reputed institute. Joining a coaching institute is not necessary but generally, students who find it difficult to prepare for entrance without a mentor can join a coaching institute.

8. Build vocabulary

Almost 25 – 30 questions are asked from English language and comprehension which include reading comprehension, idioms, and phrases, antonyms, synonyms t, etc. Hence students need to work on their basic English skills which can be done by investing at least 2 hours per day and developing a reading habit. Some good books on objective English like ‘English is Easy’ of Chetanand Singh or a book on a similar subject by R.S. Agarwal.

9. GK and Current affairs

It is seen that questions based on current affairs are from the past five years. So, the current affairs of the past five years are enough for preparing this section.  The general knowledge section covers history, geography, economics, literature, science, etc. A newspaper is the best source for updating yourself with current affairs. Recommended books are Universal’s Guide to CLAT and LL.B. Entrance Examination and Lucent’s General Knowledge book.

10. Revision is necessary

Thorough revision before the exam day is a must. The student must go through the whole syllabus once again during the last days of preparation. An important topic like legal terms Legal Constitution of India and GK must be revised.

DU LLB entrance exam is unexpected most of the time, so students must be mentally prepared for the unexpected part. Most students panic during the days before the exam. Taking too much stress never helps even it make you forget concepts during exams. To avoid such a situation plan your studies, revise thoroughly, and be confident.
