IIT Kanpur organized the placement drive virtually due to COVID 19. Around 500 students from the institution got tremendous offers from top companies and startups.
The placement drive was carried out for several days. On the fourth day, more than 480 students received and accepted the job offer.

MORE THAN 500 STUDENTS TO GET PLACEMENT AT IIT KANPUR
In last year’s placement drive at IIT Kanpur, 580 students received and accepted the job offer. The administration has not calculated the total number of students that are placed by the end of the fifth day. But, it is expected that there are more than 500 students.
50 PERCENT STUDENTS GOT PLACEMENT AT IIT KANPUR
Due to the economic downturn, the hiring process in many companies is running low. On the other hand, the officials of the placement cell and the student coordinators are trying their best so that final year students get placement at this point. Out of the total registered students, more than 50 percent of the students have got the placement.
Professor Kantesh Nalani is the professor in-charge of the Placement Cell. He said that around 481 students got placed by the end of the fourth day.

Around 170 firms participated in the placement drive and hired students from the institution. He said that students and companies are based at remote locations in 2020.

IIT Kanpur already told the students that they have to appear for face to face interview process. So, according to the instructions, students appeared for tests and personal interviews.

Professor Balani said that they have told the firms not to reject students based on internet outage and powercut while they were appearing for personal interview. This issue is beyond their control.
