Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies Delhi University is a premier institute imparting ingenious education and knowledge in the fields of Management and Information Technology (IT) since 1987. Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies Delhi University placement cell is one of the most organized establishment which caters to the students’ need for getting placement, mostly in their preferred association. Over the years, SSCBS placement cell ‘Career Development Centre’ has witnessed the visit of leading corporates. The placement cell of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies ‘Career Development Centre’ along with its conscientious members works towards maximizing students’ welfare and enabling every student to achieve their goal. More than 70 companies visit the SSCBS campus every year to recruit talented students of Shaheed Sukhdev Singh College of Business Studies for various positions.
Career Development Centre (CDC) aims at furnishing the best possible opportunities for the SSCBS students. It functions in providing them with a thriving platform and rapid exposure to the corporate world. Recently, CDC has also taken an initiative ‘The Buddy Project’. Under the project, every third-year student is assigned a second-year student as their mentor to guide and counsel them regarding the placements.
CDC conducts the year-long placement and internship session in accordance with a policy that evolves each year based on past experiences, in order to make the placement and internship processes efficient and smooth for both students and the recruiters.
Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies Delhi University placement session 2019-20 concluded with a sharp ascent in pay bundles. While the most significant and highest package offered was Rs. 18 LPA, the average package amounted to an aggregate of Rs. 7.03 LPA. The placement season 2019-20 of SSCBS cumulated recently with the college witnessing the participation of 75+ companies extending 177 offers to the students. Students at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies were recruited under different sectors such as Analysis, Software Development, Marketing, Research, Finance, Consulting, etc.

The placement season at SSCBS witnessed the regular recruiters including CBRE, FTI Consulting, Brain Capability Network, United Airlines, Praxis Global Alliance, Genpact, InMobi, McKinsey, Grant Thornton, Boston Consulting Group, Periscope McKinsey, Oxane Partners, RocSearch reaffirming their belief in the students and strengthening their long term tie-ups with the SSCBS.
One of the prominent focal points of the SSCBS placement season was the participation of the leading corporates from the league of the Big 4’s which includes KPMG, Deloitte, and EY, who extended numerous offers to the students. FMCG companies like Vahdam Teas, Dabur, Colgate-Palmolive also participated in the placement drive.
Notable Companies like Goldman Sachs, KPMG, and Grofers extended replacement offers to students. Furthermore, apart from the regular recruiters, 37 new companies were also added to the list including MXV Consulting, Zilingo, Claro Agro, and BYJUs.
If we look at the year-wise placement trends in the highest and average packages offered, it can be easily seen that the packages have increased over the years. The placement ratio for the year 2019-20 stood 91.79%.
Pranay Singh (HR Team, D.E. Shaw India) said that he gained a high opinion after interacting extensively with SSCBS students. Students are knowledgeable about the corporate firms and the role and their demeanor was applaudable. He added that the development of SSCBS students had a lot to do with the stringent admission procedure along with the senior students and faculty members passing on their experience with the fresh batches.
Vishal Malik (Research Team Leader, McKinsey Knowledge Centre) said that they visited the SSCBS for the first time for recruitment and their experience was incredible. He concluded that most of the SSCBS students had great business awareness and strong fundamentals.
In addition to placements, the SSCBS placement cell ‘Career Development Centre’ also encouraged intermediate students to acquire internships and gain the necessary skills and experience.
The internship season at Shaheed Sukhdev Singh College of Business Studies Delhi University witnessed an unprecedented upsurge in the number of companies fostering growth and recruiting with SSCBS from virtual projects and work from home internships. The college received over 370+ internship offers from 175+ companies where intermediate students were selected in the domains of Consulting, Finance, Software Development, Analytics, Research, Marketing, etc.
