DU FIRST SEMESTER

Delhi University admission 2021: In this academic year 2021-22, a high number of foreign students in DU is noticeable. Last year 550 international students got admission to DU. Whereas, over 600 foreign students get admission this year. 

The varsity has offered admission to 2000 foreign students. So, the intake of foreign students is likely to go up. Besides, the university offers admission to more than 100 Afghanistan students. And, 80 students have secured admission. 

The Deputy Dean of DU, Dr. Amarjiva Lochan said, “This time admissions have been better than last academic year. As of now, more than 600 foreign students are admitted to DU. In comparison, last year the varsity offered admission to 900 students. However, only 550 were accepted.”

He added, “Several students have started attending online programs. Moreover, government authorities are trying to simplify the e-visa process for those who are in trouble getting their e-visas. On the other hand, some aspirants may arrive via a third country. We will welcome them heartily, whenever they will come.”

FSR PROVIDES COLLEGES TO FOREIGN STUDENTS IN DU

As per the varsity guidelines, Delhi University’s Foreign Students Registry (FSR) allots colleges to international students. As a provisional admission letter does not secure a seat in a university’s college. 

Moreover, eligible students can confirm their admission to various programs till 31 December 2021.

The University reserves 5% seats for foreign students in DU. Further, they get admission to various programs either under the self-financing category or by scholarship schemes. Indian Council for Cultural Relations offers scholarship schemes for foreign students.
