One of the students of Delhi University from Daulat Ram College filed an appeal in the Delhi High Court striving her result for fifth-semester exams which were held in December 2019. According to the student, she appeared for all four of her exams of the fifth semester but in the ‘International Trade’ exam which was held on 3rd December 2019, she got overdue due to traffic and in the hustle, she mistakenly took some of her notes in her stationery compartment. But as soon as she realized it, she herself went to the invigilator to withdraw her notes. Her exam was held insignificant and she was given a new answer sheet, but almost when the exam time had deduced. While the invigilator has declared her for cheating in the examination.

she issued a show-cause notice on 12th March 2020, After the proclamation of the result of her batch mates she mentioned that even after multiple manifestations to the University, there has been no response. No, the hearing took place before the University made the conclusion to cancel her examination and not declare her result.

Whereas, according to the University, the student didn’t question any show-cause attention or sought for any hearings. Due to lockdown, it has taken some time for the University to compile and fetch records to put before the court.

The court, accordingly, speculated that the complainant is a praiseworthy student in her final year and she was not given a hearing before making any decision. Thus, she can file a counter-affidavit against the University with essential documents within two weeks. Also, the University must spot her result for the other three exams in the next hearing on May 11.
