With the rapid surge in covid cases, several state governments had to close their educational institutions. Hence, the majority of the schools and colleges stay closed as the country exceeded the 1 lakh mark in covid cases. Hence, here is the list of states who recently announced the closing of their educational institutions.

State-wise closing amidst rising covid cases:

K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana has declared the closing of schools and colleges. Thus, schools and colleges in the state will remain closed from 8th January 2022 to 16th January 2022.

As in Bihar, schools will be closed for students from classes 1 to 8th. Hence, from class 9th and onwards, and other higher institutions like colleges will be open. However, they will be functioning under 50 percent occupancy.

In Uttar Pradesh, the government on Tuesday announced to close schools up till class 10th. Thus, the deadline is of 15th January 2022. In Pune, the schools are closed till 30th January 2022. But, Ajit Pawar, the deputy CM only closed them for classes 1 to 8.

In Karnataka, the state government has decided to shut educational institutions. So, except for class 10th and 12th, everything will be shut. Coming to Odisha, schools and colleges are closed till 10th January considering the rising covid cases.

Several exams postponed due to the rise in covid cases:

CBSE and CICSE have announced the 1st term results by the end of January. Also, as for ISA AT exams, certain guidelines have been released. The all-India level Archery Championship has been postponed.
