With the flattening covid-19 graphs and a full-fledged vaccination drive, there is a huge list of states reopening schools and colleges. A lot of states including Gujarat, Meghalaya, Telangana, and Jammu, and Kashmir are planning to reopen schools from February 2021.
Educational institutions all over the country have been shut since March 2020. Hence, many states are attempting to reopen for the first time in 11 months. However, a lot of states have already reopened schools for classes 10th and 12th and colleges for the PhD and science students.
However, attendance will be entirely on a voluntary basis. Hence, it is the choice of the students if they want to attend online or offline classes. Also, the children willing to resume offline classes are supposed to bring a written consent letter. Hence, all states are directed to collect such consent letters after reopening schools.
Reopening schools in Karnataka:
S Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister said that universities and schools from classes 9th onwards will reopen from 1st February 2021. Hence, they will restart their usual full-day classes.
Reopening Schools in Jammu and Kashmir:
The government is already preparing the standard operating procedures (SOP). However, the summer zones in Jammu will initiate classes from 1st February, and winter zones of Kashmir will start from 15th February.
State Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that classes from 6th onwards will start in February. Also, they will be reopening schools for the primary section in a phased manner soon.
Educational institutions for classes 10th and 12th have already restarted. Hence, the state will be reopening schools for 9th and 11th grade now.
Reopening in Delhi:
Delhi has already started classes for the 10th and 12th from 18th January 2021. However, now it will further reopen for classes 9th and 11th from 5th February.
Punjab School reopening:
Punjab has already reopened schools for students from class 3 and 12. However, now they will restart classes of Pre-primary as well.
Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Meghalaya are the other states reopening schools from February 2021. Hence, they will be following all the safety protocols and ensure maximum safety of the students.
