A 10 percent upsurge in the total cases led to the creation of new Covid-19 rules. Hence, this week India witnessed 86,711 new registered cases. This information was shared by the Union Health Ministry to everyone. Therefore, with this resurrection of the pandemic, certain new covid-19 rules and guidelines are drafted.

India had recently considered a relaxation in the covid-19 rules and guidelines. Hence, earlier in this month, a flattening covid-19 curve was observed. However, from this week onwards the daily number of cases rose all over again. The dashboard of the Union Ministry of Health and Family welfare confirms 14,264 new cases in the past 24 hours. Hence, the infection tally has now gone up to 10,991,651. The statistics of the past 24 hours are – 11,667 recovered cases, 2507 active cases, and 90 related deaths.

What are the new covid-19 rules?

New covid-19 rules are being set up for International air travel. Hence, it will come into effect from Monday, 22nd February 2021, 11:59 p.m. Previously in this week, the civil aviation ministry did release a well updated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This was done after the new SARS-COV-2 virus from South Africa and Brazil was detected in India.

There has been an announcement of curbs in Maharashtra and Kerela. Hence, the government is constantly warning of a new lockdown. Post this covid-19 surge, these states might witness a lockdown in some parts. Also, the Health Ministry has highlighted the upswing in Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, these states are also emerging as a matter of concern.

What is the need for these new covid-19 rules?

The rising cases and the subsequent risk is the driving force. Hence, Maharashtra has recorded more than 6000 cases daily. Kerala also witnessed 4,650 new cases on Saturday. Also, Maharashtra’s capital city, Mumbai has recorded 897 new cases on Saturday, 20th February 2021. Hence, the ministry of home affairs will announce the new covid-19 rules soon.
