This University of Amritsar was established on 24th November, 1969. It was established in Amritsar, Punjab. The campus area of the University is spread over 500 acres near the village of Kot Khalsa which is nearly 8 km west of Amritsar and next to Khalsa College in Amritsar.

Pass Students of class 10 and 12 can enroll in various courses now. Guru Nanak Dev University(GNDU) is offering many courses at the department of lifelong learning until August 31. Pass students of class 10th and 12th can seek admission into those courses. The director of the department, Suraj Arora informed everyone about the courses. He said that it is important to fulfill educational needs. That is why the department conducted different programs under the non-formal mode of education.
THESE COURSES ARE FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT GET HIGHER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
These programs are specifically for those students who can not get many opportunities for higher education. Many changes are taking place in the technological sector. In order to adapt to those changes, the university is conducting educational programs.
ONE-YEAR CERTIFICATE COURSES AT GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY
The university is offering one-year certificate courses. These courses include dress designing, cutting and tailoring, diploma in cosmetology, diploma in graphics, and web design. There are many other diploma courses like diploma in computer application, diploma in fashion designing and diploma in fashion and textile design.
SIX-MONTH CERTIFICATE COURSES AT GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY
There are many six-month certificate courses also at the University. The courses are AutoCAD and reveal modeling, training for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and certificate courses in English speaking and communication skills.
