The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released guidelines for JEE NEET as thousands of aspirants have been seeking postponement of the NEET and JEE examination in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The students have always been mandated to wear gloves and masks by the top agency. The students have also been asked to carry their own sanitizers and water bottles.

NTA said that, in a notification, detailed deliberations have been carried to formulate guidelines for the various measures/controls that are required to be implemented on the examination day and all of the examination centers.

The JEE examination for IITs will be happening between September 1 and 6. The NEET exam is scheduled for September 13, this exam facilitates the entry into the government-run medical colleges.

Students will be asked to report at the examination center at different time slots as per the guidelines for JEE NEET. This will ensure the maintenance of social distancing and a staggered entry into the examination halls.

Thermal screening of all the students will be done and all those students who will be running a higher temperature will be asked to write the exam in a separate room. The invigilators will also be thermally screened.

Along with this, the aspirants will be providing a self-declaration that they are not infected by the virus and they have also not come into contact with any such person who has tested positive in the past.

All the students will have to wash their hands with soap and water before they enter the examination hall.

Candidates will have to furnish relevant documents, like the admit card, from across the table to the invigilator to minimize contact further.

The aspirants will be allotted their designated seat by the in-charge after this. At any given point, the invigilators have been asked to not touch any document.

The exam will be monitored by 50% invigilators and the other 50% will see be overseeing the outside operations.
The students will be given a new mask to wear and will be asked to remove the one they carry with them. The examination centers will not have water dispensers either.

Students will have to exit in an orderly fashion once the exam gets over to avoid crowding. In a pedaled dustbin, they will have to throw their masks and gloves.

After a plea was dismissed by the Supreme Court seeking a postponement of the NEET, JEE exam, the examinations are happening.

Deferring the exam will be jeopardizing the careers of students, concluded the top court. It also added that education should be opened up. There might be a continuation of COVID-19 for another year. Will the petitioner wait for another year?

The NTA assured, during the hearing, that all the precautions will be taken. Some students, while disagreeing with the conclusion of the Supreme Court have said that the exams will not only put the students at risk but also their families.

The students have also said that reaching the centers that are at far-off places will be problematic during the coronavirus crisis.
