According to the Animal Welfare Board of India, notification, 14 February will be celebrated as ‘Cow Hug Day’. This appeals to people to spread positivity and collective happiness. Animal lovers can show their love towards cows and celebrate the 14 Feb happily.

Further, 14 February is celebrated as Valentine’s day across the world. The government wants to bring back the Vedic traditions and says western culture is dominating our tradition which is quite visible by now.  

The government advisory said, “There are huge benefits of a mother cow, and hugging a cow like it brings emotional richness. As a result, it heightens individual as well as collective happiness. In view of this, cow lovers can celebrate the 14 February as Cow Hug day and show their gratitude towards the cow.”

Cow Hug Day: Backbone of Indian Culture

The board emphasized the importance of cows in our Indian Culture and also in the rural economy. It quoted, “Animals represent cattle wealth and biodiversity.” Moreover, cows are called ‘Kamdhenu’ or ‘Gaumata’ for a reason. They nourish nature like a mother and provide richness to humanity.

Besides, the Animal Welfare Board of India says that an advisory is issued on the direction of the Department of Animal Husbandry. And Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.
