GGSIPU (Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University) has scheduled to take offline exams amid the coronavirus pandemic. All the students have to appear for the end term examinations. The university issued a notice to commence offline exams from 21st September onwards. Due to this, the students are in a state of complete fix.

Offline exams are the nightmares of every student. Students are going through multiple dilemmas.  And taking offline examinations amid a global pandemic is completely an inappropriate step, taken by many colleges and universities.

GGSIPU is affiliated to IP University, under Delhi Government.  Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have already announced that all Delhi affiliated educational institutions will not take exams (online/offline) mode.

However, the varsity is adamant to take the exams. They have released a “proposed date sheet” for courses like MBA, B.tech, and B.Pharma on 11 September 2020. Furthermore, the university planned to take the exams in two shifts.

SSGIPU stood at 66th position among Indian universities by the NIRF in 2019. Moreover, about 120+ colleges come under this university. Due to the decision to take offline exams the lives of lakhs of students are dangling in danger.

Offline exams : A big injustice

Earlier, the University notified in July that either they will cancel the exams or will set the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format for the exams. But they removed this notice from the official website of GGSIPU.

Students alleged that the varsity notified the students about offline examinations on 9th September and gave the date sheet on 11th September. They even did not get the proper time to prepare for exams. And now the authority is calling students to reach the campus for the exams.
