The meeting of the DU Academic Council chaired by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh will be held on 3 August 2022. The purpose is to discuss the Four-year Undergraduate Program or FYUP syllabus for the first semester as per the new curriculum.

According to the official statement, the meeting agenda is to discuss and finalise the syllabus based on the new curriculum i.e., the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF). Earlier it was discussed among the standing committee. Now, it has been forwarded to the Academic Council for approval. 

Furthermore, Delhi University’s Executive Council approved the new curriculum (UGCF) proposal under the NEP cell in February 2022. After the approval of the Academic Council, it will be executed in the academic session of 2022-23.

As per the official statement, the meeting will discuss hundreds of UG courses syllabus. For instance, BA (Honors) in Business Economics, BA (Honors) in Multimedia and Mass Communication, B.Sc in Electronic Science and B.Sc (Honors) in Microbiology.

Furthermore, VC’s Inspection Committee recommended launching an MS (Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics) program at the University College of Medical Sciences from 2022-23. And, with two seats per year. Therefore, this suggestion will be considered by the Academic Council during the 3 August meeting.

Besides, the course committee prepared the syllabus and later the standing committee passed it for approval. Moreover, the course committee includes five professors (3 college professors and the remaining two from the concerned department).

What after AC approval? 

After the approval by DU Academic Council, the FYUP syllabus will be presented to the Executive Council for final decision. For this academic year, the FYUP is very different from the previous 2013 FYUP.
