In online mode, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will offer MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA, MCA in Cybersecurity, and MCA in Artificial Intelligence. In the NIRF ranking 2020, the university ranked fourth and is the second after the IIT-Madras to have offered a full-time online degree. The NEP aims to improve the gross enrollment ratio and offers flexibility to students who choose their own subjects as well as resuming a degree even after sabbaticals and such degrees were encouraged under the NEP.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has also launched a six-week certificate program on Mahabharata in online mode along with the full-time degrees. The programs are recognized by the UG which is branded as Amrita AHEAD and is equivalent to the on-campus degrees of the university, as claimed by the university.
The university said in an official statement that the students of Amrita AHEAD online programs would also get industry projects, course mentors, multiple industry certifications, interactive sessions with industry experts, and the university’s career assistance programs.
The official statement read that learners could also take advantage of the discussion forums, recorded lectures, and live interactive sessions to clear doubts with the experienced mentors and faculty. Innovative teaching practices allow freshers and working professionals anytime access, provide experiential learning, and flexibility with personalized mentorship along with interactivity. The Dean (Postgraduate Programs), Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan said that a unique feature of the degrees of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was semester-long internships even at the undergraduate level to make the learning of students relevant to the industry. The students could also pursue dual degrees with some of the best international universities and benefit from international placement opportunities and exchange through their more than 200 global affiliations.
