FIRE BREAKS OUT INSIDE COMPUTER LAB OF DU’S RAM LAL ANAND COLLEGE

 

Fire incident reported at Delhi college, firefighters at the spot. The DFS received a call about the fire at 11.40 am and the blaze was brought under control by 12.25 pm.

It was not immediately clear as to how one of the campus buildings caught fire or if people were present.

A fire incident was reported from Delhi’s Ram Lal Anand College on Monday afternoon, even as all universities and schools are shut across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The pictures showed huge red fireballs leaping from the window frames and a thick black smoke spiraling out.

No one was injured in the incident that took place in the college located in South Campus., the official said.

According to the Centre’s Unlock 1 guidelines, a decision on the opening of schools, colleges, educational, coaching, and training institutions will be taken in the month of July after consultations with state and Union territories. State Government or UT administrations have been advised to hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders.

DU has decided to take the online exams of only Third year students. Whereas First and second-year students will be promoted on the basis of Last semester marks and Internal Assessment. DU has planned to make the entire admission process online. This process was taken in force by the Delhi University to minimize the visits of the student to the colleges in view of the current situation due to the coronavirus outbreak. Delhi University has started the admission process for the upcoming batch of 2020-21 by starting the official website. The registration form was expected to come out today but has not got released yet.
