Delhi University (DU) is all set to kick start, final year classes, from 20th July 2021. The official statement was made on Thursday, 24th June 2021 that the fifth semester is likely to begin soon. Also, a fresh academic calendar is released by Delhi University for the promoted students. Also, examinations for the new fifth-semester students will be held from 30th November as per scheduled.

The final year classes as per the academic calendar:
The Delhi University released its academic calendar on 24th June 2021 explaining its schedule for this academic year. Thus, the current batch of 2nd-year students will be promoted as final-year students. So, their final year classes are likely to begin in July without any unnecessary delay.
The covid-19 pandemic has been very harsh on everyone including DU students and teachers. Due to this crisis, all the 2nd year students of Delhi University didn’t get a chance to sit for any online exam. These exams were solely conducted for the final year students. So, the 2nd years are getting marked based on their assignments, i.e. the ABE mode of evaluation.
The new academic calendar also elaborates that the sixth semester of these newly promoted students will begin from January 2022. Also, the tentative calendar states that their classes will disperse on 28th April 2022 and the final theory exam will start from 11th May next year. But, this is a tentative program that can likely get altered due to the continued covid-19 pandemic.

DU’s aim to take exams and admissions in time:
Due to covid-19, DU admissions 2020 was delayed immensely. The first-semester class began only in late November. Thus, to avoid such unnecessary delay, the 2nd-semester exams will be conducted between 12th August and 24th August. So, the new batch of 2021 can be expected from August 31.
