FAKE NEWS BUSTED: DELHI UNIVERSITY’S NOTICE TO CONDUCT 1ST AND 2ND YEAR EXAMS GOES VIRAL

A tension emerged in the minds of students when the fake notification in the name of Delhi University regarding the conduct of 1st and 2nd-year students got viral on the social media platforms. Recently the phony notice in the name of Delhi University got viral stating that the exams for 1st and 2nd-year students may be conducted in the month of August. The notification advised students to start their preparation as the University might conduct the exams of 2nd and 4th semester in August.

The fake news thereafter emerged tensions in the minds of 1st and 2nd-year students. The notification printed sham signatures of the Dean Examinations Vinay Gupta and an erroneous seal of the University of Delhi. As per the viral notification, a meeting was held on 27th June between the members of the examination committee and the Dean Examinations.

NSUI media and the NSUI in charge Mr. Lokesh Chugh later confirmed it from the Dean (Examination) Vinay Gupta. He told that the news being disseminated is fake. There is no such notification posted on the University’s website.

When asked for the authentication, various faculty members of the University of Delhi denied the authenticity of the notification and declared it as fake. DUTA claimed the notification is fake and being circulated to trouble students. It was further made clear that no such notification has been circulated by the University.

Students are requested to not get carried away by any such fake news and check the official website of the University of Delhi for authentication. Spreading take news via social media platforms should not be termed as jokes and pranks. University’s decision to conduct of OBE examinations for the final year students have already built the tensions in the young minds. It is not merely about the ones who are scared to appear for examination rather it is about the students who do not have any access to the internet.
