Fact-Finding Committee: After the dramatic incidents in Delhi University, Vice-Chancellor on the next day of the suspension of Yogesh Tyagi, in a meeting of the DU Executive Committee (Executive Council) on Thursday, a voice was raised against Prof. Tyagi.

DU’s letter dated 28 October was placed on the table of the EC. The memo has also been issued to Vice-Chancellor Dr. Geeta Bhatt appointed by Prof. Yogesh Tyagi.

The acting registrar was appointed by Prof. Tyagi and the director of South Campus Prof. till the time the Fact-Finding Committee works. The committee decided to not give any administrative post to Vishram Jha.

On the next day of the suspension of the DU Vice-Chancellor, there was a lot of commotion on the DU campus. The action was taken against many people appointed by Prof. Tyagi.

Just as the letter regarding the suspension of the Vice-Chancellor came just after the announcement of holding an emergency executive council meeting, it was believed that important decisions would be taken in the meeting. The Fact-Finding Committee will examine all points. However, the name of who will be on the committee has not been announced yet.

Executive Committee member Rajesh Jha says that the meeting was held in a peaceful atmosphere and whatever was on the minds of the members towards Prof. Tyagi, he said in the meeting. All the members were committed that there should be no such constitutional crisis in the future which would hurt the dignity of DU.

DU representative in the committee of the ministry

In the Executive Council meeting, JL Gupta demanded that the representative of DU should also be included in the committee to investigate the matter of DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Tyagi. Executive Council member JL Gupta said that the post of Vice-Chancellor of DU is highly respected, so the investigation should be impartial and consider all aspects.

Dayal Singh College Chairman removed: Rajiv Nayan, chairman of Dayal Singh College, Delhi University, has been removed by the DU administration. However, the DU administration says that their removal has nothing to do with the ongoing developments in DU.

Rajiv Nayan on DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Tyagi said to give his support. The letter issued by DU, referring to a June 15 letter addressed to Rajiv Nayan, states that the appointment of the chairman of the governing body of Dayal Singh College is withdrawn.
