EXEMPTION OF CLASS 10TH AND 12th STUDENTS FROM COVID-19 LOCKDOWN MEASURES

Due to the rising of coronavirus cases, the country is under the lockdown period since 24th March. As lockdown exists over the nation, all the educational institutions have been shut down. Still, the authority is not taking any kind of risk for the education of children. Students of every school except for class 10th and 12th have been promoted and the school is taking all the responsibility of completion of the course. Teachers are taking online lectures and regular assignments and notes are given to the students. For Class 10th and 12th students, some examinations are still remaining to be conducted. Due to the lockdown period, it is very difficult for the authority to conduct exams of all the students.

CLASS 10TH AND 12th EXAMS: 

 As it is a matter of educational interest of all the students, it is compulsory to take exams. So, the authority has decided to conduct exams of class 10th and 12th students in the month of July. Still, the Centre had issued orders exempting students from lockdown instruction so that social distancing could also be maintained among the students. The Centre has ordered that all the students and teachers will have to wear masks. 

When the government received requests from the state government and CBSE to hold examinations of class 10th and 12th, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla wrote a letter to the state Chief Secretaries for this effect. He said, “ Taking into consideration the academic interest of a large number of students, it has been decided to grant exemption from the lockdown measures to conduct Board Examinations for class 10th and 12th.”

The following measures that need to be taken in order to maintain social distancing are:

  • No examination centers shall be allowed in the containment zone.
  • Students and teachers have to wear a mask. Sanitizer shall be provided at the center 
  • There should be a provision for thermal screening
  • Social Distancing should be enforced

It was also written in the letter that as the examinations have to be conducted by different boards, the examination schedule should be staggered. Moreover, the state should also arrange transportation facilities for students to the Examination Centre. 

EXAMINATION DATESHEET:

As released by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the examination for class 10th and 12th are likely to be held from July 1. The following date and examination scheduled are decided by the authority. For class 12th, Home Science exam is scheduled on July 1. For Commerce students, the exam of Business studies will be held on July 9. For Science students, their Biotechnology exams would be conducted on July 10 and for Arts students, the Geography exam is going to be held on July 11. There. Are many students that belong to the northeast region of Delhi, their examinations were remained due to lockdown as others but some examinations were left because of riots too. So their remaining exams are also scheduled in the month of July. 

For Class 10th students, exams will be held in on four dates, starting from July 1.
