Wajid Khan, the famous composer of Sajid-Wajid duo, left the world at the age of 42, in Mumbai. Singer Sonu Nigam shared the news of Wajid’s sad demise with his picture and caption “My brother has left us”.
Music composer and his close friend, Salim Merchant disclosed, “He had many issues. He had a kidney problem and had a transplant a while ago. But formerly he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the previous four days, after his condition started getting worse. Kidney infection was the advent and then he had a serious health condition.”
Entertainment Journalist Faridoon Shahryar, prior, had reported Sonu Nigam and he told, Wajid was suffering from COVID 19 disease.
“Sad News: Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam just ascertained me that music composer Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid passed away a short while ago. He was agonizing from COVID 19,” he tweeted.
He started the career with his brother Sajid Khan in the year 1998 as a composer and music director. Actor Salman Khan starrer film “Jab Pyaar Kia to Darna Kya” was his debut as a music director in the Bollywood industry.
Wajid, along with his brother composed many songs for a variety of films like Dabangg Series, Rowdy Rathore, Chori Chori, Hello Brother, Wanted, and Mujhse Shadi Karogi.
The duo has recently composed Salman Khan’s Song “Bhai-Bhai”.
After getting the news of Wajid’s death, the whole Bollywood industry came together on various social media handles and paid their tribute to the legendary composer.
Actress Priyanka Chopra tweeted, “Terrible news. The one aspect I will always remember is Wajid bhai’s laugh. Forever smiling. Gone too soon. My consolations to his family and everyone in grief. Rest in peace, brother. You are in my thoughts and blessings. @wajidkhan7.”
His beloved friend Wajid Khan posted on Twitter, “Shattered with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid -Wajid victory. May Allah give courage to the family. Safe travels bro @wajidkhan7 you left us too soon. It’s a big loss to our fellowship. I’m broken. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Babul Supriyo, the singer turned politician said “ Crestfallen to hear about the untimely cessation of Wajid of the renowned Composer duo of Sajid-Wajid. The tremendous loss of a very very dear ally & a gifted musical mind – a Gr8 sport….”.
Singer Tulsi Kumar said that she was in a state of ‘complete shock’ after listening to this horrible news. It can’t be real! I can’t speculate that Wajid Bhai has left us. Worked with u on so many songs just met u a while ago @wajidkhan7 .. May your soul Rest In Peace. May god gives endurance to the family to withstand this huge loss,” she wrote on Twitter.
Not only an exceptional music composer but also a great singer. He lent his voice in the chartbuster songs such as “Mera hi jalwa, Fevicol se and Hud hud Dabangg”.
The partners created the super hit songs of Bollywood which is on everyone’s favorite song list.
Together, they served as mentors in the reality shows “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” in the year 2012 and also in “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” Superstars. They also created the theme song of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in it’s the fourth season.
They also won many awards for their commendable work in the field of music, including Filmfare awards for Dabanng in the year 2011 and Daddy for the year 2018.
