The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India has awarded 4.5 stars in the ratings for 2019-20 to Jamia Hamdard. IIC was established in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education and is an initiative of the Ministry of Education. Its aim is to promote and advance innovative practices among higher educational institutions. ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ has been established by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and this has been established to systematically foster the culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
For undertaking various initiatives and activities prescribed by the Innovation Cell, MoE, Jamia Hamdard has been awarded 4.5 golden stars. For its vibrant innovative ecosystem, Jamia Hamdard has received the top rating in the region. The University, since its inception, is carrying out various activities aimed at promoting innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship by involving both the faculty and the students.

Prof Seyed Ehthesham Hasnain, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, said that it is a moment of great pride for them that they were awarded such a rating by MIC. They have been incessantly making strides, with their solution-oriented methodology to education to provide their students and faculties with an ecosystem where they can express their entrepreneurship skills.

CRITERION USED TO RANK JAMIA HAMDARD
Jamia had fulfilled the criteria of three category scoring system developed by IIC, in order to get the ranking, for determining and assessing the innovative performance of higher educational institutions across the country.
The university followed the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell prescribed calendar of activities, effectively and they also took part in a series of MIC driven initiatives, which revolved around the promotion and development of entrepreneurship.
DU ACTING REGISTRAR APPOINTED AND ASKED TO VACATE OFFICE ON SAME DAY
The final factor was in regard to the institutions’ self-driven initiatives, which satisfied this rating. prof. M. Afshar Alam, Dean, and Incharge IIC shared that Jamia Hamdard had an edge in this regard over ensuring the active engagement of its students and faculties in innovation centered initiatives.
