A meeting between the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and the higher education minister of Uttarakhand Dhan Singh Rawat took place on Wednesday. Pokhriyal asked the government of Uttarakhand to promote the education of women in hilly areas. This will ultimately lead to women’s empowerment.
He added that the ministry plans to construct 3 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIT’s) in cities like Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar. They will be built in public-private partnerships. He ensures that the Ministry of Education will release adequate grants for the establishment of these institutions.
He requested the state government to give suggestions and ideas on the construction of IISER in Uttarakhand.
He invited a proposal for the state government on the empowerment of women. It will be aimed at providing better facilities in higher education to the girls. He discussed the central government schemes working or to be introduced in the area of women empowerment.
The union Education Minister mentioned that the state government is requested to submit 3-4 priorities for strengthening education for girls.

They must keep in mind the remote, backward, and Himalayan areas where its need of the hour. The central government wants to promote or introduce equal education facilities where there is a dearth of it.
These projects provide better opportunities. The aim is to take the state and central government together towards equal education for all regardless of the place they are living. This initiative will provide access to education to the students living in hilly areas. It will introduce and promote higher educational institutions. Building Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IITs) and seeking the proposal of the IISER are a major step towards the goal.
IIT MADRAS: RESEARCH STUDY TO AID ASPIRING ENGINEERS
Keeping in view the area or the region, the state government will propose some places for the projects to start. Pokhriyal said that these solutions are great for the future as they work towards the empowerment of women.
