On Thursday, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the Central government is putting equal emphasis on education and security.

The education minister interacted with the students, parents, and teachers. It was regarding the upcoming exams. The Minister said that security is first and foremost for them. Then equivalent to the security of the students comes their education. Both security and education go hand in hand.  He ensured at the inconvenience faced by the students in the lockdown will blow away.

Nishank was asked about speculation raising on NEET 2021 exam. He mentioned that in no case will the exam be canceled. The NEET exam will be conducted next year prioritizing the security of the students.

He cleared it by saying that the exam will be conducted in online or offline mode depending on the situation.  Considering the ongoing pandemic, the ministry is looking for possibilities to conduct the NEET 2021 exam.

The minister said that 17 states have reopened the schools. Amid low attendance, these schools have been operating. He further mentioned that the state governments have the liberty to reopen considering the situation in their states.

Regarding the board examinations, the education minister said that CBSE is working on the implementation of the Board examination. He added that the Class 10 and 12 exam syllabi are reduced by 30 percent for the year 2021. Due to the difficulty raised due to coronavirus-imposed lockdown this decision is taken.

He ensured that the central government is doing all it can for the education scenario in the country. It aims to engage with all the stakeholders of the education department. The ministry will look into the concerns and problems faced by the stakeholders. Plus, they will bring out the necessary solutions for the same.
